Over 580 archers from over 80 countries converge in New York City for the 42nd World Outdoor Target Archery Championships, making it the largest World Championships ever in the sport of archery.
Olympic champions and hopefuls will contest eight events, with preliminaries taking place in Van Cortlandt Park’s Parade Grounds through Friday the 18th and then concluding with the finals in Central Park’s North Meadow over the weekend of July 19th and 20th.
The public is invited to attend both the
qualifying and final rounds free of charge.
Archers will compete in individual and team recurve bow and the competition will serve as
the Olympic qualifier to determine which archers will compete at the 2004 Olympic Games in
Athens. The event will also feature individual and team competition for compound bows.
So it's you chance to watch how somebody reaches their target!!
